The existing smile is documented with a mold or with a digital impression (x-rays and high-definition photography with 3-D reconstruction). An iTero 3-D scanner can take thousands of images per second and build an interactive model of the current smile and of planned progress — without repeated sticky impression material.
ClinCheck uses that 3-D information to calculate the forces that move the teeth. Compliance indicators can show whether the aligner is being worn as prescribed, which helps patients who need a reminder.
